- 1.0 Scope
-
- This docment will describe the operation and features of
- the LPTSEL.EXE program (Version 1.00).
-
- 2.0 Introduction
-
- The LPTSEL program was written to allow the user to reassign
- the parallel printer addresses. This allows any installed parallel
- printer adapter to be assigned the "DOS DEVICE NAME" of LPT1:.
- This allows the user the flexibility of selecting any of connected
- adapter as the "default printer" that is used by most DOS programs.
-
- This program may be executed under the WORDSTAR "R" command
- to allow selection of a "draft" or "letter quality" printer. The text
- may be printed on the "draft" printer utill it's final format is
- acheived. The "letter quality" printer may then be selected.
-
- LPTSEL supports reassignment of any of the three possible
- parallel printer adapters.
-
- LPTSEL was written to work with the IBM-PC. It may also
- work with the "IBM COMPATIBLE UNITS" although this is not
- guaranted. This program does work with the COMPAQ personal computer
